Kaesang: PSI Cultural Parade Brings MSMEs and Artists to Life
Jakarta (ANTARA) — Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) Chairman Kaesang Pangarep said the PSI cultural parade held today in Tegal is part of the party's outreach efforts to the public through a down-to-earth approach that is close to local traditions.
"We want to be present in a way that is enjoyable, open, and upholds local wisdom. Politics must be able to move in harmony with culture, not leave it behind," Kaesang said in a statement in Jakarta on Sunday.
Kaesang said PSI wants to ensure that every political activity remains rooted in the local community's cultural heritage. The cultural parade concept was therefore chosen so that the party's introduction process respects, preserves, and celebrates the cultural values that thrive among the people.
Beyond serving as an outreach platform, the cultural parade is also expected to deliver a direct economic impact for the community. The event involves micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) operators as well as local artists, so that opportunities for promotion, appreciation, and economic circulation can be directly felt by residents. PSI believes that regional progress will be strengthened when politics, culture, social solidarity, and the empowerment of MSMEs and artists can move forward together.
On a prior occasion, PSI officials also visited the evacuation site for the land movement disaster in Tegal Regency to distribute basic necessities to affected victims. "In addition to the cultural parade held by PSI today, PSI's central executive board also went directly to deliver disaster relief for the land movement yesterday," Kaesang said.
