Kadin Calls for More Protection

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce (Kadin) has called for more protection for the domestic market to maintain the pace of the economic recovery, citing the importance of market availability.
Vice Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce Rahmat Gobel said on Monday (15/6) at the Department of Economy, that being one of the countries with positive growth during the economic downturn, Indonesia should take advantage of this condition to improve its competitiveness.
Rahmat took cited the electronic appliances industry which turned Indonesia into one of its main production bases.
“The industry should be protected from illegal imports,” a measure Rahmat said would draw direct investments for business.
