The Trump administration has estimated that the cost of the first six days of war against Iran has reached at least 11.3 billion US dollars (approximately 180.8 trillion rupiah, based on an exchange rate of 16,000 rupiah per US dollar).

This estimate was conveyed by Trump administration officials during a closed briefing to members of Congress this week, according to sources familiar with the meeting on Wednesday, 11 March 2026.

The figure was presented to senators during a closed briefing on Tuesday. However, this value does not include the full cost of the conflict and was provided only as an initial assessment after members of parliament requested more detailed information regarding the military operations.

Some congressional aides estimate that the White House will soon submit a request for additional funding for the war. The submission is estimated to reach 50 billion US dollars (approximately 800 trillion rupiah), although several officials believe this figure is likely still too low.

To date, the US government has not provided a comprehensive public assessment of the total cost of the conflict or an estimate of how long the war will last.

During his visit to Kentucky on Wednesday, Trump stated that the United States is currently “winning the war”, but affirmed that military operations will continue until their objectives are achieved.

The estimated cost figure of 11.3 billion US dollars was first reported by The New York Times.

Trillion-Rupiah Ammunition

The military campaign against Iran began on 28 February through air strikes launched by the US together with Israel. The aggression has thus far reportedly killed around 2,000 people, mostly Iranian and Lebanese civilians, after the fighting expanded into Lebanese territory.

The war has also triggered turbulence in the global energy market and disrupted the international transport sector.

Government officials also informed members of parliament that approximately 5.6 billion US dollars (approximately 89.6 trillion rupiah) worth of ammunition was used in just the first two days of military operations.

Members of Congress have begun voicing concerns that prolonged aggression by their country could deplete America’s military supplies. These concerns have emerged amid pressure on the defence industry, which is currently also attempting to fulfil various weapons requests.

Last week, Trump even held a meeting with executives from seven defence contractors when the Pentagon sought to accelerate production and replenish military ammunition stocks.

Meanwhile, members of parliament from the Democratic Party are urging government officials to provide public testimony under oath regarding war plans. They have requested explanations on the estimated duration of the conflict as well as Washington’s strategy towards Iran after the fighting ends.
