Just a question
Just a question
This question is put forward because of my political
ignorance. In The Jakarta Post, Jan.31, 1995, page 2, I read
(under the picture of Golkar Chief Harmoko and Chief Justice
Soerjono) the following caption: "Harmoko chief of the Government
backed political party Golkar etc. etc." is Golkar (Functional
Group) backed by the Government or is the Government backed by
Golkar? Is this not tendentious?
As far as I know all parties back the Government, because the
Mandataris (mandate) is elected unanimously by all, and the
Mandataris forms the Government.
In my simple opinion, it is wrong when the National Government
under Pak Harto backs Golkar, the same mistake I think is also
made when the newspapers say Golkar is backed by the Armed
Forces, while in reality the Armed Forces stands above all
parties. Sorry if my opinion proves wrong.
