Junior Secondary School Student in Sikka, NTT Murdered After Rejecting Sexual Advances
A girl identified as STN, aged 14, was murdered by her relative identified as FRG, aged 16, in Sikka Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). The junior secondary school student was killed because she refused FRG’s sexual advances.
Kasat Reskrim of Sikka Police, Inspector Reinhard Dionisius Siga, revealed that the murder occurred on Friday, 20 February 2026. According to him, STN had initially visited FRG’s house to collect a guitar. It was at that moment that FRG forced STN to have sexual relations.
“Tensions escalated when FRG seized the victim’s mobile phone, followed by physical contact between the two. In an uncontrollable state of emotion, FRG used a machete previously used for splitting durians to brutally assault the victim,” Reinhard stated in his account on Saturday, 28 February 2026.
Reinhard stated that FRG’s machete blows repeatedly struck the victim’s neck and head, causing severe injuries. As a result, the junior secondary school student died at the scene.
According to Reinhard, FRG attempted to conceal the victim’s body behind the house by covering it with taro leaves and bamboo. Feeling unsafe, FRG subsequently moved the victim’s body to Watuwogat river.
“FRG moved the victim to a second location at the river and covered it with wood and leaves before eventually fleeing to Ende Regency,” Reinhard added.
Reinhard affirmed that FRG has been designated as a suspect in the case of the junior secondary school student’s death. Currently, FRG is being held in detention at Sikka Police station.
FRG has been charged under Article 473 paragraph (2) letter b of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code and Article 80 paragraph (3) of Law Number 35 of 2014 concerning amendments to Law Number 23 of 2002 on Child Protection.
Reinhard explained that the suspect FRG is still classified as a minor. Therefore, the entire investigation process is conducted in accordance with Law Number 11 of 2012 concerning the Juvenile Criminal Justice System (SPPA).
“We are also immediately conducting expert witness examinations (forensic doctors), completing case documentation, and submitting the case file to the Sikka State Prosecutor’s Office so that this case can quickly receive legal certainty,” he concluded.
