Judicial Commission Says Ethics Probe of Depok Court Judge Awaits Plenary Session Outcome
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Judicial Commission (KY) chairman Abdul Chair Ramadhan said the decision on ethics proceedings related to the case involving a Depok District Court (PN Depok) judge would be determined by the outcome of a KY plenary session.
"Yes, the decision will come from the results of the KY plenary session," he said in a doorstop interview at the KPK building in Jakarta on Thursday.
Abdul stated that the plenary session concerning the ethics examination would reveal the truth about the case involving the judge at the Depok District Court.
"The what and how of the examination results will be revealed in due course," he said.
Abdul disclosed that plenary session verdicts are divided into three tiers: mild, moderate, and severe.
"There are three tiers for the decision: mild, moderate, and severe. The severe category means dishonourable dismissal — that is the heaviest sanction," he said.
Abdul explained that the KY's ethics examination proceeds through several stages, namely identifying those who knew about, heard about, and directly experienced any misconduct by the judges.
"It is a standard examination. The examination covers the judge who in this case has become a suspect, as well as witnesses who knew about, heard about, and directly experienced the transactional practices in question," he said.
He continued: "All of this becomes evidence to be used in determining the sanction to be imposed on the individual concerned, based on the available evidence."
Previously, on 5 February 2026, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) conducted a sting operation targeting a judge in the Depok area, West Java. The KPK explained that the operation was related to alleged corruption in the handling of a land dispute case.
On 6 February 2026, the KPK revealed it had arrested seven individuals in the operation, comprising the chief and deputy chief of the Depok District Court, one other person from the court, as well as a director and three employees of PT Karabha Digdaya, a subsidiary of the Ministry of Finance.
The KPK subsequently named five of the seven individuals as suspects in the alleged corruption case related to the receipt of payments or promises in connection with a land dispute within the Depok District Court's jurisdiction, involving a 6,500-square-metre plot of land in Tapos sub-district.
They are Depok District Court chief I Wayan Eka Mariarta (EKA), deputy chief Bambang Setyawan (BBG), court bailiff Yohansyah Maruanaya (YOH), Karabha Digdaya president director Trisnadi Yulrisman (TRI), and Karabha Digdaya head of corporate legal Berliana Tri Kusuma (BER).
In addition, the KPK named Bambang as a suspect in an alleged gratification case after receiving data from the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (PPATK) concerning the receipt of Rp2.5 billion from PT Daha Mulia Valasindo.
