Judicial Commission opens selection for Supreme Court Justices and ad hoc judges until 16 April
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Judicial Commission (KY) has opened the selection for candidates for Supreme Court Justices and ad hoc judges of the Supreme Court (MA) for 2026 to fill needs in various judicial chambers, with registrations running until 16 April 2026.
Judicial Commission member and Chair of the Inter-Institutional Relations and Information Services Division, Anita Kadir, stated that this selection is a follow-up to the official request from the MA regarding the filling of judicial positions.
“The Judicial Commission received a letter from the Supreme Court regarding the request to fill those vacancies on 26 February 2026,” she said in Jakarta on Monday.
Based on that request, the needs for Supreme Court Justices include two in the civil chamber, four in the criminal chamber, two in the religious chamber, and three in the special tax state administrative chamber.
Meanwhile, the needs for ad hoc judges total three, consisting of two ad hoc human rights judges and one ad hoc corruption judge.
The KY is opening online registrations from 26 March 2026 until 16 April 2026 at 23:59 WIB through the official KY recruitment website, namely rekrutmen.komisiyudisial.go.id, and the email rekrutmen@komisiyudisial.go.id.
“All requirement documents are scanned in PDF format and uploaded through the Judicial Commission recruitment website,” said Anita.
She added that all selection services are conducted online, including consultations through official channels. “The Judicial Commission only provides services online,” she said.
The selection stages include registration, administrative selection, quality, health, and personality tests, open interviews, up to determination of passing candidates and proposals to the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI).
Judicial Commission member for Judicial Recruitment, Andi Muhammad Asrun, emphasised that the selection is conducted openly with the principle of equality for all participants.
“The principles upheld in this selection are equal opportunity and equal treatment,” he said.
He mentioned that as of now, the number of registrants has reached 139 people and is still potentially increasing ahead of the closure.
In addition, the KY is disseminating selection information to various legal professional organisations, academics, and judicial observers to net quality candidates.
The KY assesses that the online-based selection system is part of efforts to expand access, increase transparency, and ensure accountability in the judicial recruitment process at the Supreme Court level.
