The Bekasi City Transportation Agency (Dishub) has enforced traffic engineering on Jalan Ir H Juanda, specifically in front of Bekasi Station, every day from 23:00 to 05:00 WIB. This measure is in effect from Tuesday (7/4/2026) to Friday (10/4/2026), coinciding with the installation of a pedestrian overpass (JPO) construction. “Yes, in connection with the erection of the pedestrian overpass in front of Bekasi Station, over the next three days, the JPO girder erection will be carried out,” stated Bekasi City Dishub Secretary Teguh Indrianto when confirmed by Kompas.com via message on Tuesday. “Now, on the third night, the road on Jalan Insinyur Haji Juanda will be closed,” he added. Teguh explained that on the third night, all vehicles passing in front of Bekasi Station will be diverted through several alternative road sections, namely Jalan Kemakmuran, Jalan Ahmad Yani, Jalan M Hasibuan, Jalan RA Kartini, and back to Jalan Juanda. This traffic diversion is primarily intended for large-dimensional vehicles that have previously traversed Jalan Juanda towards Jalan Perjuangan. “It prioritises large-dimensional vehicles,” said Teguh. In addition, the Bekasi City Dishub has prepared other alternative routes for road users, particularly those heading to Kranji, West Bekasi, or towards Jalan Ahmad Yani. For vehicles coming from Simpang Pemda to Simpang Bulan-Bulan, they can pass through Jalan Kemakmuran, Jalan Veteran, Jalan M Hasibuan, and Jalan RA Kartini. Meanwhile, vehicles from Simpang Bulan-Bulan heading to Kranji are directed via Jalan KH Masyuro, Jalan Veteran, and Jalan Rawa Tembaga. With the implementation of this traffic engineering, Dishub urges all road users to follow traffic signs and instructions from officers on site for collective safety. Previously reported, the construction of the JPO on the south side of Bekasi Station was delayed due to permitting issues from the Ministry of Transportation and PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI). Head of the Bekasi City Road and Water Resources Department (DBMSDA), Idi Sutanto, stated that the permits have now been completed, allowing the project to proceed.
