Journalist never repents
JAKARTA (JP): A senior female journalist for a Sumatra newspaper was briefly questioned yesterday by security officers for speculating on the next cabinet lineup.
The woman drew a large crowd at a press center when she read out a list of the next cabinet lineup to fellow reporters and a television crew treated her like an authoritative official.
When the "news briefing" was over, plainclothesmen approached and led her outside.
"There is nothing to worry about. They asked me what I was doing and who my source was," she said on returning to the press room.
She was not repentant and helped other reporters curious about the list she said she had obtained from the Indonesian section of the BBC and Hilversum radio interviews with Indonesian sources. (pan)
