Jayapura — A combined team from the Indonesian Military (TNI) and National Police (Polri), comprising Habema Task Force, Rajawali Task Force, and Damai Cartenz 2026 Operations Task Force, has secured 561 rounds of ammunition of various calibres belonging to an armed criminal group (KKB) led by Aibon Kogoya.

Additionally, the Operations Commander of the Damai Cartenz Task Force, Brigadier General Faizal Rahmadani, stated that the combined TNI/Polri team also successfully took control of the armed group’s headquarters following a firefight.

“Following the firefight that occurred on Sunday (1 March), the combined TNI/Polri team successfully took control of the KKB headquarters led by Aibon Kogoya and secured various pieces of evidence,” said Faizal when contacted from Jayapura on Monday.

He noted that law enforcement action against the wanted list (DPO) individual who claims to be Commander of Kodap III D Dulla Aibon Kogoya took place on Sunday evening (1 March) around 22:40 Western Indonesia Time (WIT).

Pressed during the firefight, the armed group abandoned their headquarters, leading to the seizure of 561 rounds of ammunition of various calibres for both long-barrelled and short-barrelled weapons, as well as 10 SS1-type magazines and an AK-101 type firearm.

“Additionally, 12 mobile phone units, five handy-talky units, and cash totalling Rp79,900,000 were secured,” said Faizal.

He added that amongst the 12 mobile phones seized, two units are believed to belong to victims of previous violent incidents, namely a Brimob Battalion C member who was killed in an attack last year and a civilian employee or security officer in the incident involving the burning of a PT Kristalin security post in Nabire.

“Law enforcement efforts will continue in order to provide security to the community,” said Faizal.
