Joint Raid at Tabanan Prison Targets Illegal Mobile Phones and Drugs
Tabanan Class IIB Prison held a joint raid on Friday (8/5/2026). The activity aimed to eradicate prohibited items such as illegal mobile phones, narcotics, and all forms of scams. The raid involved law enforcement apparatus (APH), namely Tabanan Police Resort, Battalion B Pioneer Satbrimob Polda Bali, Military District Command (Kodim) 1619 Tabanan, Badung Regency National Narcotics Agency (BNNK), Tabanan Regency Government, Tabanan Immigration, and Pecalang. Head of Tabanan Prison, Prawira Hadiwidjojo, stated that this cross-agency synergy strengthens efforts to maintain security and order, keeping the facility safe, clean, and conducive. After a joint roll call and pledge, officers immediately conducted the raid on the inmates’ residential blocks as a preventive measure to stop the entry and circulation of prohibited items. Officers also carried out urine tests and socialisation on the dangers of narcotics. Prawira emphasised that the commitment to Zero Halinar and anti-scamming at Tabanan Prison is not merely a slogan or ceremonial activity. “This activity is not a gimmick or formality. We are always committed to eradicating illegal mobile phones, narcotics, and all forms of scams through consistent supervision. We will not tolerate any violations, whether committed by officers or inmates,” Prawira asserted. According to him, the activity is a real implementation of the 15 Action Programmes of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, particularly in combating the circulation of narcotics and scams controlled from within prisons or state detention centres (rutan). Meanwhile, personnel from BNNK Badung, I Gede Nadiana, stated that the urine test results showed no drug abuse in the Tabanan Prison environment. “The urine examination results for both officers and inmates were all negative. This demonstrates good commitment and supervision in preventing abuse or the covert circulation of narcotics within the prison,” he explained. Tabanan Prison affirms that security and order are not built through slogans, but through consistent actions and uncompromising supervision to maintain a clean, safe, and integrity-driven correctional environment.
