Jiwasraya's premium up
JAKARTA (JP): State-owned life insurance firm PT Asuransi Jiwasraya said its gross premium increased by 75.97 percent to Rp 462.8 billion (US$40.5 million) between January and June, from Rp 351.6 billion in the same period last year.
Company president Soedradjat Djajakoesoema said late last week the increase was mainly due to a growth in sales of existing and newly launched products.
"It indicates the strong response from the public to our firm," he was quoted by Antara as saying.
He added that three of the company's 17 branches -- two in Jakarta and one in Surabaya, accounted for about 50 percent of the total premium.
Soedradjat said the first semester result was 44 percent of the full-year premium target of Rp 1.04 trillion.
"Therefore, we are more than optimistic about meeting this year's target," he said. (05)
