PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia, the operator of Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport (UPG) in Makassar, has confirmed that flight operations on the Jeddah–Makassar route and vice versa continue to operate normally and smoothly, in light of the evolving situation in the Middle East region.

“Flights on the Jeddah (JED) to and from Makassar route via Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport (UPG) are being monitored and operating according to schedule,” said General Manager of Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport Makassar, South Sulawesi, Minggus Gandeguai in a press statement in Makassar on Monday.

Based on operational data, on 1 March 2026, the Jeddah–Makassar arrival flight operated by Lion Air proceeded safely and smoothly, carrying a total of 386 passengers. Subsequently, on Monday, 2 March 2026, the Makassar–Jeddah departure flight operated by Flyadeal was also recorded as “on schedule” with 79 passengers.

To date, no flights have been disrupted on the Middle East route, particularly Jeddah, to and from Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport.

Intensive coordination continues to be carried out with all stakeholders, including airlines and relevant authorities, to ensure the smooth operation of flights, including continued monitoring of the situation on a regular basis.

Minggus stated that airport management continues to actively monitor global developments that could potentially impact flight operations.
