JCI Rises Nearly 1% in Morning Session, Prajogo's Issuer Surges Double Digits
The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) surged significantly following the Central Statistics Agency’s (BPS) report that Indonesia’s economy grew 5.61% in the first quarter of 2026. The JCI rose 0.83%, or 57.90 points, to 7,029.85 during the first trading session on Monday, May 5, 2026. Trading value reached 9.12 trillion rupiah, with a daily transaction volume of 23.57 billion rupiah. Meanwhile, investor trading activity totalled 1.42 million transactions. The raw materials sector recorded a 1.33% increase. A sharp rise was also seen in the financial sector at 1.32%, and the transportation sector rose 1.14%. In contrast, the industrial sector fell 0.62%, the health sector dropped 0.48%, and the cyclical consumer sector corrected 0.26%. From a technical perspective, analysts at Phintraco Sekuritas observed a shrinking negative MACD histogram. Meanwhile, the stochastic RSI indicator formed a golden cross in the oversold area. “We forecast the JCI has the potential to continue strengthening towards the 7,050 level in the second trading session,” stated Phintraco Sekuritas analysts in their daily research on Tuesday, May 5, 2026.
