JCI Opens Lower at 6,968.57 Today

The Composite Stock Price Index (JCI) opened weaker in trading today, Tuesday (5/5/2026). Based on data from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) at 09:00 WIB, the JCI opened at the level of 6,968.57, lower than the previous close at 6,971.95. Although it initially showed red, the JCI demonstrated strengthening and moved into the green zone. At 09:30 WIB, the JCI was at the level of 7,005.11, with index movements ranging from 6,921.61 to 7,009.78. Trading frequency was recorded at 467,400 transactions. Market capitalisation was in the range of Rp12,458 trillion. A total of 311 stocks strengthened, 263 weakened, and 385 stocks remained unchanged. This composition shows that the majority of stocks are in the green zone and are driving the index strengthening. KOMPAS100 also strengthened by 0.73 per cent to 947.09, and IDX30 rose 0.86 per cent to 379.57. Meanwhile, the Jakarta Islamic Index (JII) weakened by 0.05 per cent to 179.46, and the Indonesia Sharia Stock Index (ISSI) fell 0.12 per cent to 251.30.
