JCI Closes Up 1.22% at 7,057.11 Today

The Composite Stock Price Index (JCI) closed higher in trading today, Tuesday (5/5/2026). The JCI rose 85.15 points or 1.22% to 7,057.11. Throughout the session, the JCI moved in the range of 6,921.61 to 7,069.21, opening at 6,968.57. According to data from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI), share trading volume reached 41.49 billion shares, with a trading frequency of 2.425 million times. Stock movements at the close of trading today were dominated by gains. A total of 360 stocks strengthened, 328 weakened, and 271 remained unchanged. Local indices also strengthened. The LQ45 closed up 1.04% at 681.58, while the KOMPAS100 rose 1.46% to 953.96. The property sector fell 0.14% to 918.12, while the health sector dropped 1.52% to 1,665.18. Meanwhile, the technology sector declined 0.71% to 7,542.31 and the industrial sector fell 0.62% to 2,049.04. Strengthening also occurred in the financial sector, which rose 2.3% to 1,387.44, and the infrastructure sector gained 2.58% to 2,090.20. The basic materials sector rose 2.86% to 2,188.18 and the transportation sector increased 1.08% to 2,186.14.
