Jayapura Immigration Office deports 19 PNG nationals
Jayapura (ANTARA) - The Jayapura Immigration Office has deported 19 Papua New Guinea (PNG) nationals during the first quarter of 2026. The 19 PNG citizens were deported for entering Indonesian territory without immigration documents, said Andy Syahputra Harahap, spokesperson for the Jayapura Immigration Office, to ANTARA on Wednesday. When asked about monitoring PNG nationals entering without documents, the Jayapura Immigration Office collaborates with various parties to conduct surveillance. Besides footpaths, some claimed to have entered using motorboats, said Andy, who hopes that the public will also report if there are foreign nationals in their vicinity so that the office can take action to deport or repatriate them. In addition to the Skouw Integrated Cross-Border Post and Hamadi Port Immigration, the Jayapura Immigration also stations officers at traditional crossing posts in Senggi, Waris, and Wembi in Keerom Regency. The Jayapura Immigration Office’s jurisdiction covers two provinces, namely Papua and Papua Pegunungan, with 11 districts and cities: Jayapura City and Regency, Keerom, Sarmi, Mamberamo Raya, Jayawijaya, Tolikara, Yahukimo, Mamberamo Tengah, Yalimo, and Pegunungan Bintang, said Andy Harahap.
