Jasindo Insurance Rolls Out ESG Practices During Ramadan
PT Asuransi Jasa Indonesia (Jasindo) has reaffirmed its corporate sustainability commitment through the implementation of health-based social programmes and the strengthening of social harmony during the Ramadan season at Istiqlal Mosque in Central Jakarta. This initiative is part of a social value creation strategy integrated within the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) framework, whilst supporting the strengthening of human resources (HR) and national social resilience.
As part of Indonesia’s national insurance industry and the State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) ecosystem, Jasindo views the development of superior human resources and communities capable of adapting as the foundation for sustainable economic growth. Consequently, the company’s social programmes are designed to focus on long-term impact and provide measurable added value to society.
Brellian Gema, Jasindo’s Corporate Secretary, stated that integrating social aspects into business strategy represents a strategic step to ensure that corporate growth progresses alongside contributions to the national development agenda.
“We interpret sustainability as a commitment to ensure that every business initiative carries a strong social dimension. Through preventive health services and the strengthening of shared values in communities, Jasindo wishes to contribute to the development of healthy, productive, and competitive human resources, whilst strengthening social resilience,” said Brellian.
During the event, Jasindo provided free health services through its Mobile Health Clinic programme, serving thousands of mosque visitors. Access to this preventive healthcare represents part of the company’s social investment in supporting improved quality of life for the public, enabling communities to carry out religious observance with greater peace of mind and comfort.
In addition to health services, the event included a Ramadan seminar on the theme of “Halal Lifestyle” to increase public literacy regarding healthy and sustainable halal living patterns. Educational activities for children, including colouring competitions and Islamic storytelling, reinforced character development and family values as pillars of social resilience.
As part of its corporate social responsibility commitment, Jasindo distributed aid to orphans and the disadvantaged, distributed meal packages for breaking the fast, and supported worship facilities through the provision of shoe racks and charging stations.
These facilities were made available to enhance comfort for worshippers and strengthen the spirit of community in public spaces. The company believes that creating a sense of comfort and security whilst performing worship and social activities during Ramadan forms part of the business community’s contribution to strengthening social resilience and providing a shared comfort experience for society.
“Going forward, we will continue to strengthen the integration of ESG into our corporate strategy, ensuring that Jasindo’s business growth proceeds alongside genuine contributions to the strengthening of national human resources and social stability,” Brellian concluded.
