TEMPO Interactive, Malang:State water supplier Jasa Tirta I plans to maximize the company’s potential to increase its revenue. The Brantas River manager has prepared Rp37.6 billion to invest in electricity and a potable water system, including a solar-generated power plant, Lodagung 1, worth Rp4 billion, and water-generated power plant Lodoyo, valued at Rp8.2 billion.
Public Works Ministry’s water resources director general Mochammad Amron, said the government was not yet serious about developing water-generated electricity. With the potential of a water-generated power plant totaling 74.976 megawatt (MW), only 3.455 MW has been utilized. "The potential is very big in Central Kalimantan and Papua," said Amron.
