Preference for Indonesian Coal Hurts South African Port
The price of coal shipped from South Africa’s Richards Bay Coal Terminal, the continent’s largest export facility for the fuel, fell to the lowest in six weeks as buyers opted for Indonesian supplies. Prices fell 2.4 percent last week to an average $120.90 per metric ton, data from IHS McCloskey show. That is the lowest since the week ended April 1, though prices have risen 36 percent in the past 12 months.

South Korea to Build Pipe Plant in Makassar in June
TEMPO Interactive, Makassar:South Korea’s PEM Korea Co Ltd will build the first HDPE Polyclin pipe manufacturing plant in eastern Indonesia. The US$ 5-10 million plant will be located on a 5,000-square meter area in the Makassar Industrial Zone (Kima). PEM Korea will partner with the Indonesian company, PT Bahana Cipta. The plant will be designed with five environmentally friendly pipe making devices. “We will build the first stage of the plant by June at the earliest.

Producers Rely on Imported Soybean
TEMPO Interactive, Kudus:Tofu and soybean curd producers in Kudus still rely on imported soybean for their raw materials. However, imported soybean prices have risen higher than local soybean prices. Imported soybean is now sold at 5,700 per kilogram, or Rp100 per kg higher than local products. The price shift has made profits in the tofu-soybean curd business uncertain, Kudus Tofu-Soybean Curd Cooperatives manager, Amar Ma'ruf, told Tempo yesterday.

LG opens branch in Cirebon

Jambi gets Rp55 billion in coal production sharing

Korean firm to build pipe plant in Makassar
Makassar, South Sulawesi (ANTARA News) - South Korea`s PEM Korea Co.Ltd plans to build a polyethylene pipe plant on two hectares of land at Makassar industrial estate in June. PEM Korea Co. Ltd. President Director Jin Hwan Ho signed a cooperation agreement for the construction of the plant with South Sulawesi Governor Syahrul Yasin Limpo at the gubernatorial residence here on Monday.
