Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Jasa Raharja has issued guarantee letters for treatment costs to eight hospitals handling victims of the accident involving the Commuter Line (KRL) and a long-distance train in East Bekasi, West Java.

The President Director of Jasa Raharja, Muhammad Awaluddin, stated that this step was taken to ensure all victims receive optimal medical treatment without administrative obstacles.

“We ensure that all victims receive basic protection guarantees. For deceased victims, we will deliver compensation as quickly as possible,” Awaluddin said in his statement in Jakarta on Tuesday.

He explained that all victims, whether deceased or injured, are covered by Jasa Raharja in accordance with Law No. 33 of 1964.

For deceased victims, the basic compensation provided is Rp50 million as per regulations.

In addition, through its subsidiary Jasaraharja Putera, which collaborates with PT KAI, deceased victims receive additional compensation of Rp40 million.

Meanwhile, for injured victims, Jasa Raharja guarantees hospital treatment costs up to a maximum of Rp20 million as per regulations.

Jasaraharja Putera also provides additional coverage of up to Rp30 million for injured victims.

Awaluddin stated that his side continues to monitor developments in the field, as it is still possible for additional victims to be referred to other hospitals.

“We continue to monitor developments in the field because it is still possible for additional victims to be referred to other hospitals,” he said.

Jasa Raharja is also continuously coordinating with hospitals, police, and railway operators to accelerate victim handling.

“We also express our thanks for the collaboration and synergy of all agencies that have helped speed up victim handling. Our principle is that no victim should have delayed treatment,” Awaluddin said.

Based on preliminary data on Tuesday at 8:45 WIB, there were 14 deceased victims and 84 injured victims from the incident who are still receiving treatment at various health facilities.
