Jakarta – Jasa Marga, through the Jasamarga Metropolitan Tollroad Regional Division (JMT), has urged the public to prepare for their Eid holiday journey by ensuring vehicles are roadworthy and drivers are in optimal condition.

JMT has also advised travellers to ensure sufficient fuel and e-toll credit balance for journey comfort.

“Jasa Marga urges road users to use only one electronic card for toll road payments within closed-system toll routes such as the Cipularang and Padaleunyi Toll Roads, as well as the JORR II Toll Road. The same electronic card should be used when tapping at both entry and exit toll gates,” said Senior General Manager of Jasamarga Metropolitan Tollroad Regional Division Widiyatmiko Nursejati in a statement in Jakarta on Tuesday.

On 16 March, five days before the Eid al-Fitr holiday for 1447 Hijriah/2026 CE, the Jasamarga Metropolitan Tollroad Regional Division recorded traffic volumes departing the Jabodetabek region towards Merak, Puncak Bogor and surrounding areas distributed through toll gates Cikupa and Ciawi 1. A total of 83,510 vehicles were recorded, representing a 7.82 per cent increase compared to normal transaction traffic volumes of 77,455 vehicles.

Traffic volumes at Cikupa toll gate heading towards Merak increased, with 48,217 vehicles passing through, a 3.33 per cent rise compared to normal traffic of 46,665 vehicles.

Traffic volumes at Ciawi 1 toll gate heading towards Puncak Bogor recorded 35,293 vehicles, representing a 14.62 per cent increase compared to normal traffic of 30,790 vehicles.

Meanwhile, in West Java, no significant increase in traffic volumes heading towards Bandung or Rancaekek and surrounding areas has yet been observed. A total of 70,386 vehicles passed through, representing a 9.58 per cent increase compared to normal transaction traffic of 64,235 vehicles.

Travellers departing Bandung and Rancaekek heading towards Jakarta through the same toll gates numbered 60,332 vehicles, representing a 6.35 per cent increase compared to normal traffic of 56,732 vehicles.

Traffic distributed through Cileunyi toll gate heading towards the Rancaekek, Garut and surrounding areas was recorded at 36,098 vehicles. Transaction traffic volumes at this toll gate increased by 13.66 per cent from normal traffic of 31,761 vehicles.

Return traffic volumes heading towards Jakarta through Cileunyi toll gate numbered 31,062 vehicles, representing a 9.33 per cent increase compared to normal traffic of 28,412 vehicles.

Meanwhile, traffic volumes heading towards Bandung City through Pasteur toll gate totalled 34,288 vehicles, representing a 5.59 per cent increase compared to normal traffic of 32,474 vehicles.

Traffic volumes at Pasteur toll gate departing Bandung City heading towards Jakarta recorded 29,270 vehicles, representing a 3.35 per cent increase from normal traffic of 28,320 vehicles.

Jasa Marga predicts that increases in traffic volumes will continue to occur during the peak exodus, expected to fall on Wednesday 18 March.
