Jasa Marga Chief Executive Officer Rivan A. Purwantono reported that 285,000 vehicles had departed Jakarta on the first day of Operation Ketupat 2026. This volume can still be accommodated without requiring traffic management interventions.

“From Jasa Marga’s projection regarding vehicle numbers, currently 14 per cent have left Jakarta. Certainly, this is manageable without traffic management measures,” said Rivan at the Jasa Marga Toll Road Command Centre (JMTC) in Jatiasih, Bekasi, on Saturday (14 March 2026).

The breakdown shows approximately 285,000 vehicles out of a projected 3.5 million expected to depart Jakarta. The majority of vehicles are using the Trans-Java toll route.

“So 285,000 represents 14 per cent of the total 3.5 million projected. The distribution also shows the same pattern, with the Trans-Java route being the most dominant destination,” he stated.

Rivan explained that on the first day of Operation Ketupat 2026, vehicles departing Jakarta towards other destinations had not yet shown significant numbers. However, he acknowledged that vehicle volumes could increase over the weekend.

“Movements towards other destinations, such as Bandung, are not yet visible in the projected numbers. But this is only the first day; there is still a possibility that on Saturday and Sunday there will be further movements,” he said.

“Hopefully, this will continue smoothly. We will continue to monitor developments on the second day, day minus 9, and onwards,” he added.
