Jasa Marga Explains Reasons for Semarang-Batang Toll Road Tariff Increase to Rp33,000
The Semarang–Batang Toll Road tariff officially changed from Saturday, 7 March 2026. This adjustment was implemented pursuant to Ministry of Public Works Decision No. 18 KPTS/M/2026, issued on 7 January 2026.
PT Jasamarga Semarang Batang, a subsidiary of PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk, announced the tariff changes through its official Instagram account, @official.jsb_. The company explained that the tariff adjustment follows government policy regarding motor vehicle classification and the Semarang-Batang toll road tariff restructuring.
The tariff increase applies to all vehicle classes. For Class I vehicles on the Batang/Pasekaran to Kalikangkung/Semarang route, the tariff increased from Rp111,500 to Rp144,500, representing a rise of Rp33,000 or approximately 29.6 per cent.
Class II and III vehicles experienced similar adjustments on the same route. Their tariffs increased from Rp167,500 to Rp216,500, a rise of Rp49,000 or roughly 29.3 per cent. For Class IV and V vehicles, tariffs rose from Rp223,000 to Rp289,000, an increase of Rp66,000 or approximately 29.6 per cent.
PT Jasamarga Semarang Batang emphasised that the 2026 toll road tariff adjustment is non-regular in nature. The tariff determination was based on investment feasibility study results and business plan evaluations, rather than following the standard regular adjustment mechanism typically tied to annual inflation rates.
The company reiterated that the policy remains consistent with the terms specified in the Semarang–Batang Toll Road Concession Agreement. Beyond tariff adjustments, the toll road operator committed to continuously enhancing service quality for road users through regular road maintenance, construction quality improvements, and compliance with Minimum Service Standards.
