Jasa Marga Chief Says 30 Per Cent Toll Discount Could Serve as Gauge for Travel Timing During Exodus
PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk has disclosed that the 30 per cent toll tariff discount represents a crucial component of time management, enabling traffic congestion to be dispersed during the Eid holiday exodus and return journey periods.
Jasa Marga Chief Executive Officer Rivan A. Purwantono explained that time management in this context refers principally to travel planning undertaken by exodus travellers during this year’s Eid holiday.
“The toll discount should not be overlooked—it should actually be leveraged and positioned as part of time management, determining when travellers should depart,” Rivan stated during a media briefing in Jatiasih, Bekasi, West Java on Tuesday, 10 March 2026.
Rivan further noted that the 30 per cent toll tariff discount also aims to distribute vehicle traffic across the exodus and return journey periods for Eid 2026.
“We are currently providing a 30 per cent discount, and naturally this discount is something we all hope for. It is being offered as part of traffic management—for instance, distributing vehicles. This discount is scheduled for the exodus on 15 and 16 March and the return journey on 26-27 March,” he said.
The 30 per cent toll tariff discount applies one-way for four days from 15-16 March (exodus) and 26-27 March (return journey) for continuous travel across nine toll corridors. For the Transjawa Toll corridor, five toll sections qualify for the 30 per cent discount: Jakarta-Cikampek Toll, MBZ Elevated Toll, Palimanan-Kanci, Batang-Semarang, and Semarang Section ABC Toll.
For toll sections in West Java, two corridors are included: the Cikampek–Purwakarta–Padalarang Toll (Cipularang) and Padalarang-Cileunyi Toll. For the TransSumatera Toll, two sections apply: the Belawan–Medan–Tanjung Morawa Toll (Belmera) and the Medan-Kualanamu-Tebing Tinggi Toll (MKTT).
“Why is the discount offered on 15-16 March? Because we hope that travellers depart on Sunday and Monday, avoiding congestion because of work from home (WFH) on 17 or 18 March,” Rivan said.
For context, Public Works Minister Dody Hanggodo disclosed that the toll tariff discount applies for four days, comprising two days during the exodus period and two days during the return journey period.
