Jasa Marga: 14 per cent of vehicles have departed Jakarta
Jakarta (ANTARA) — Jasa Marga revealed that 14 per cent of vehicles had departed Jakarta on the first day of Operation Ketupat 2026 on Friday (13/3).
“From Jasa Marga’s projection, 14 per cent of vehicles have currently left Jakarta. This flow is still occurring without traffic management intervention or engineering measures,” said Jasa Marga Chief Executive Rivan A. Purwantoro at the Jasa Marga JTMC Building in Bekasi, West Java, early Saturday morning.
He explained that the 14 per cent represents approximately 285,000 vehicles out of a total projected 3.5 million vehicles leaving Jakarta. The destinations of these vehicles were predominantly towards Trans Java Toll Road.
He stated that the company would continue monitoring vehicle movement in the coming days.
“There may be additional movements on Saturday and Sunday,” he said.
“So with our projection of 3.5 million vehicles, we see that the peak exodus traffic will occur on 18 March. However, we anticipate movement has already begun since Friday (13/3) this week,” he added.
From this projection of 3.5 million vehicles, he continued, the movement is estimated to vary, with 28 per cent heading to Merak, 50 per cent heading eastbound as far as Cipularang, whilst the remaining approximately 20 per cent heading towards Bogor.
