Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk’s President Director, Rivan A. Purwantono, reported that the volume of traffic returning to the Jabotabek area during the H-10 to H+2 period of the Eid al-Fitr 1447 H/2026 holidays, or 11-23 March 2026, reached 1,702,500 vehicles.

This figure represents the cumulative traffic flow from four main toll gates: Cikampek Utama GT (towards Trans Java), Kalihurip Utama GT (towards Bandung), Cikupa GT (towards Merak), and Ciawi GT (towards Puncak).

In his statement in Jakarta on Tuesday, Rivan stated that this number equates to 50.16% of the total projected 3.39 million vehicles expected to return to Jabotabek during the period from 11-31 March 2026.

Based on the distribution, traffic returning to Jabotabek was dominated by the eastern direction (Trans Java and Bandung) with 696,748 vehicles or 40.9%.

Meanwhile, from the western direction (Merak), there were 568,159 vehicles or 33.4%, and from the southern direction (Puncak), 437,593 vehicles or 25.7%.

For detailed movements, vehicles from the Trans Java direction passing through Cikampek Utama GT were recorded at 309,156, or 15.2% lower than normal traffic.

Meanwhile, from the Bandung direction through Kalihurip Utama GT, there were 387,592 vehicles, down 7.1% from normal conditions. In total, the flow from the east reached 696,748 vehicles, 10.9% lower than normal traffic.

From the south through Ciawi GT, there were 437,593 vehicles, 5.6% lower than normal traffic.

Rivan explained that the volume of return traffic began showing an increase from H+2 of Eid al-Fitr 2026.

“Vehicle traffic flow is expected to continue increasing, especially during the peak return period on 24, 28, and 29 March 2026,” said Rivan.

On H+2 Eid al-Fitr (Monday, 23 March 2026), the number of vehicles returning to Jabotabek through the four main toll gates was recorded at 225,293, up 73.7% from normal traffic of 129,695 vehicles.

A significant surge was recorded at Cikampek Utama GT, with volume reaching 75,837 vehicles or an increase of 197.7% compared to normal traffic.

In line with this increasing trend, Jasa Marga is strengthening services on several main toll roads by optimising toll booth operations, preparing toll road service fleets, and conducting situational traffic management in accordance with police discretion.

“We urge road users to prepare their journeys thoroughly during this return period, including ensuring vehicles and drivers are in prime condition before travelling and complying with traffic rules and instructions from on-site officers. To obtain traffic information and assist with journey planning, the public can use the Travoy app and contact Jasa Marga’s Call Centre at 133,” explained Rivan.

For road users with time flexibility, it is recommended to shift their return journey to Jabotabek during the Work From Anywhere (WFA) policy period on 25-27 March 2026 to avoid peak congestion.

Additionally, users can take advantage of a 30% toll discount on 26-27 March 2026 on nine Jasa Marga Group toll roads with a continuous journey scheme. This policy is expected to help distribute traffic more evenly while reducing potential congestion.

“Through thorough journey planning by road users and strengthened collaboration with relevant stakeholders, it is hoped that travel during this return period will proceed safely, comfortably, smoothly, and securely,” concluded Rivan.
