PT Japfa Comfeed Indonesia Tbk (JAPFA) has reduced poultry feed prices ahead of Eid al-Fitr. The decision aims to help farmers reduce production costs whilst maintaining stable poultry product prices in the market.

The policy also forms part of the company’s support for the stability of Indonesia’s national poultry sector. The feed price reduction is expected to ease the burden on farmers, particularly when demand for poultry products increases ahead of major religious holidays.

Agung Suganda, Director General of Livestock and Animal Health at the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia, views the downward trend in feed prices as having a positive impact on the industry.

“The downward trend in feed prices is a positive development for Indonesia’s poultry sector. Price adjustments in feed at the industry level are expected to help reduce farmers’ production costs, making farming operations more efficient whilst maintaining stable poultry product prices in the market,” said Agung in a written statement on Tuesday (10 March 2026).

In line with this, JAPFA’s Chief Operating Officer for Poultry, Arif Widjaja, emphasised the company’s commitment to supporting government efforts to maintain stability in the poultry industry.

“As part of our commitment to protect Indonesian consumers and farmers, we are adjusting feed prices downwards. We hope this step will help farmers improve operational efficiency whilst ensuring chicken supplies remain secure, so consumers can obtain poultry products at more stable prices, especially ahead of Eid,” said Arif.

According to Arif, the company continues to coordinate with the Ministry of Agriculture to make periodic price adjustments. This approach is intended to support farmers’ production efficiency so that downstream livestock products can be enjoyed by the public at more affordable prices.

“This effort is expected to provide room for farmers to manage production costs, particularly during periods when chicken meat demand typically increases, such as during major religious holidays,” Arif added.

Through this policy, JAPFA hopes to help sustain farmers’ operations whilst supporting the stability of the poultry industry. The company also targets poultry product prices to remain affordable for consumers throughout Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr.
