Jambi (ANTARA) - Jambi Regional Police are investigating the involvement of three members in the alleged rape case against a woman with the initials C, which went viral some time ago.

“The case continues to develop in the public sphere, thus encouraging us to accelerate the handling of the case in a transparent and accountable manner,” said the Head of Public Relations of Jambi Regional Police, Senior Commissioner Pol Erlan Munaji, in Jambi on Monday.

The victim’s legal counsel with the initials C has also reported the incident to the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police Headquarters as an effort to seek justice and ensure the case is handled objectively.

Therefore, he said, they are also carrying out internal law enforcement and ethical code enforcement.

In fact, he said, for the two main perpetrators from Jambi Regional Police in the case, namely Bripda S and Bripda N, an investigation process has been conducted, followed by a hearing of the National Police Ethical Code Commission (KKEP) with a decision of dismissal or dishonourable discharge (PTDH).

Jambi Police Chief Inspector General Pol Krisno H Siregar has stated that all ongoing processes are carried out professionally and in accordance with applicable regulations, both in criminal and ethical aspects.

“Investigators from the Jambi Regional Police Criminal Investigation Directorate are currently still investigating three Jambi Regional Police personnel who are suspected of also being involved in the criminal act of rape. This process is carried out professionally, procedurally, and transparently in accordance with applicable legal provisions,” he said.

The National Police institution, particularly Jambi Regional Police, will not tolerate any form of legal violation, especially those that harm the public’s sense of justice.

“We ensure that every violation will be dealt with firmly without favouritism. This is a form of our commitment to maintaining the honour of the National Police institution and providing a sense of justice to the public,” said Senior Commissioner Pol Erlan.

“We ask for support from all parties so that this process can run smoothly; for further developments, we will convey them openly to the public,” said Erlan.

Jambi Regional Police emphasise that they continue to monitor this case to completion as a form of commitment to upholding the law, maintaining institutional integrity, and providing protection to the public.
