Jambi City (ANTARA) - The Regional Office (Kanwil) of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (Kemenhaj) of Jambi Province is dispatching Hajj pilgrims through Batam Embarkation for the 2026 Hajj season.

Head of Kanwil Kemenhaj Jambi, Wahyudi Abdul Wahab, in Jambi on Tuesday, stated that the number of Hajj pilgrims along with personnel in the flying group (kloter) totals 445 people, all originating from Jambi City.

The departure begins with Kloter BTH (Batam) 13, scheduled to fly to the Holy Land on Tuesday (5/5) night as the inaugural group from the Jambi region.

“Kloter BTH 13 consists of 445 people, with 93 elderly Hajj candidates (lansia),” he said.

“Various facilities have been prepared to support the comfort of the Hajj pilgrims, including golf carts to facilitate mobility, special accompanying teams, food and special vehicles, as well as support from the embarkation team focused on serving elderly pilgrims,” he added.

Wahyudi also urged Hajj personnel to use a soft, calm, and non-harsh speaking style to create a comfortable and effective communication atmosphere with the Hajj pilgrims.

His side advised that subsequent Hajj pilgrims should not be accompanied by family members up to the Hajj Dormitory for the smooth running of the departure process, with families only needing to stay at their respective homes.

Meanwhile, Hajj candidate from Jambi City, Toharuddin Lubis, expressed gratitude for being able to perform Hajj this year after registering and waiting for about 14 years.
