PT Hutama Karya (Persero) has fully supported traffic management measures implemented by police and relevant authorities to ensure smooth operations during the Eid 2026 exodus on the Jambi–Palembang corridor. The traffic engineering scheme was implemented to anticipate increasing vehicle volumes.

Under the established measures, travellers on the Jambi–Palembang route who normally transit through the Bayung Lencir area are now diverted to the central corridor via the Sarolangun–Lubuk Linggau route. This traffic diversion became effective on 16 March 2026 at 21:00 WIB until a time to be determined later, depending on dynamic traffic conditions.

Despite the diversion on the arterial route, Hutama Karya has ensured that vehicles wishing to pass through Bayung Lencir to Simpang Ness and vice versa via the Betung-Tempino-Jambi Toll Road (Betejam) can continue to transit normally. The arrangement was designed to disperse vehicle concentration without disrupting logistics access and public movement on the operational toll road.

Hutama Karya has mobilised operational services at the Betejam Toll Road, including field personnel, toll gate transaction services, and supporting facilities at rest areas. Intensive coordination continues with police to ensure road user safety and public order.

“We fully support the traffic management measures taken by the authorities to facilitate smooth exodus operations. At the same time, we ensure that operations on the Bayung Lencir–Tempino section remain on standby so that road users who transit on the open access can be served well,” said Acting Executive Vice President (EVP) and Company Secretary Hamdani of Hutama Karya on Tuesday (17/3).

Facing the 2026 Eid exodus, Hutama Karya has issued several critical appeals to road users regarding safe travel practices and vehicle compliance.

The Eid 2026 traffic diversion to the central corridor is expected to reduce vehicle accumulation at congestion-prone points along the Jambi–Palembang route, ensuring that travellers’ journeys remain safe, comfortable, and reach their destinations successfully.
