Jambi City (ANTARA) - Jambi Mayor Maulana has urged the prospective Hajj pilgrims from Jambi City to pray for the region and to maintain their health while performing the Hajj pilgrimage in the Holy Land. He conveyed this message during the send-off of 435 prospective pilgrims grouped in Flight Cluster BTH-13 at the field behind the Mayor’s Office in Kota Baru Subdistrict, Jambi City, Jambi, on Tuesday. The send-off ceremony was solemn and emotional, attended by hundreds of family members and escorts who accompanied the guests of Allah to fulfil the fifth pillar of Islam. Maulana advised the pilgrims to always obey the instructions of the officials, maintain solidarity, and make the most of the pilgrimage opportunity by increasing prayers and acts of worship. His side provided full support to ensure the embarkation process for the pilgrims runs safely, orderly, and comfortably, while also providing space for families to directly escort them at the send-off location. “Let us pray that everything goes smoothly, and please also pray that Jambi City is kept away from disasters, granted security, peace, and ease in development,” he said. His side also reminded the prospective Hajj pilgrims to maintain their health during the Hajj pilgrimage, which requires strong physical condition, as well as to maintain eating patterns and nutritional intake to stay fit throughout the pilgrimage journey. “We have distributed one package of traditional food with side dishes to all prospective Hajj pilgrims as an effort to maintain health, considering that one of the initial causes of physical decline is the habit of forgetting to eat regularly,” he said. A total of 838 prospective Hajj pilgrims from Jambi City this year are being sent off via Batam Embarkation, divided into five clusters, an increase compared to last year’s 660 prospective pilgrims.
