JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Meteorological, Climatological, and Geophysical Agency (BMKG) forecasts Jakarta’s weather today, Monday (25 May 2026), to be predominantly cloudy with light rain across several areas from afternoon until evening. According to BMKG’s weather prediction, all Jakarta regions, including the Thousand Islands, are expected to be partly cloudy in the morning. By afternoon, light rain is anticipated in Central Jakarta, North Jakarta, West Jakarta, South Jakarta, and East Jakarta, while the Thousand Islands remain sunny. Similar conditions are expected in the evening, with light rain possible in Central Jakarta, West Jakarta, South Jakarta, and East Jakarta. North Jakarta will be partly cloudy, and the Thousand Islands stay sunny. At night, BMKG predicts all Jakarta areas, including the Thousand Islands, will be clear. Today’s temperature ranges from 24 to 31 degrees Celsius with humidity levels between 68% and 96%. These conditions create a wind convergence zone that enhances rain cloud formation. BMKG has issued an early weather warning for Jabodetabek (Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi) from 25-26 May 2026. The warning states several Jabodetabek areas may experience moderate to very heavy rainfall, potentially causing hydro-meteorological impacts such as waterlogging, localised flooding, and fallen trees. East and South Jakarta are classified under Alert status due to potential heavy to very heavy rain. On Tuesday (26 May 2026), a Caution status for moderate to heavy rain is forecast for North Jakarta, Central Jakarta, West Jakarta, East Jakarta, South Jakarta, and the Thousand Islands. BMKG urges residents to remain vigilant against potential disruptions from extreme weather, including possible waterlogging, localised flooding, and fallen trees. Residents are advised to regularly monitor weather updates via the InfoBMKG app and official BMKG channels. Additionally, the public can report disaster conditions in real time through the PetaBencana.id platform to assist with on-ground situation monitoring.
