The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will temporarily suspend the odd-even motor vehicle restriction policy on 26 main roads in the capital city during the Lebaran holiday period. The policy suspension will be in effect from 18 to 24 March 2026.

Syafrin Liputo, Head of the Jakarta Transportation Department, announced that the policy suspension is being implemented in conjunction with the national holiday and collective leave for the observation of Nyepi, the Balinese New Year (Saka 1948), and Eid al-Fitr (1447 Hijriah).

“In connection with the National Holiday and Collective Leave for the observance of Nyepi and Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah from 18 to 24 March 2026, the implementation of the odd-even system on various road segments in Jakarta will be temporarily suspended,” stated Syafrin on Wednesday, 11 March.

He explained that the policy is based on a Joint Decree issued by the Ministers of Religion, Labour, and State Administration regarding National Holidays and Collective Leave for 2026. The regulation also references Jakarta Regional Regulation Number 88 of 2019, specifically Article 3, paragraph (3).

This regulation stipulates that traffic restrictions under the odd-even system are not enforced on Saturdays, Sundays, or on national holidays as designated by the government.

Although the odd-even policy will be suspended during the extended holiday period, Syafrin reminded the public to prioritise road safety whilst driving and to comply with all traffic regulations in effect on the roads.

“We continue to appeal to the public to drive orderly, comply with traffic signs, and prioritise safety whilst travelling on roads,” he said.

The odd-even system in Jakarta is currently enforced on 26 main road segments, including Jalan Pintu Besar, Jalan Gajah Mada, Jalan Hayam Wuruk, Jalan MH Thamrin, Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, Jalan Gatot Subroto, Jalan HR Rasuna Said, Jalan MT Haryono, Jalan DI Pandjaitan, and Jalan Gunung Sahari.
