Jakarta to Solo trip in a BYD Atto 1: How much will it cost?
JAKARTA — The BYD Atto 1 has become one of Indonesia’s best-selling electric vehicles. With a driving range of up to 300-380 kilometres, many people are considering using the electric car for Lebaran mudik (holiday exodus).
One of the most commonly travelled routes is Jakarta-Solo via the Trans-Java Toll Road, a distance of approximately 540 kilometres.
The Atto 1 is available in two variants. The Atto 1 Dynamic is equipped with a 30.08 kWh battery with a driving range of 300 kilometres. The Atto 1 Premium has a 38.88 kWh battery with a driving range of 380 kilometres.
Based on testing conducted by the editorial team, the Atto 1 has power efficiency of up to 8.5 km/kWh. However, power consumption can vary depending on traffic conditions, driving style, vehicle load, and other factors.
Current non-subsidised residential electricity rates are in the range of IDR 1,400–1,700 per kWh. Meanwhile, DC fast charging rates at charging stations such as PLN and Voltron are approximately IDR 2,466.74 per kWh.
To cover a distance of 540 kilometres with average power consumption of 8.5 kilometres per kWh, approximately 63.5 kWh of power is required, or three battery charging sessions. This is because the Atto 1 only has a battery capacity of 30.08 kWh or 38.88 kWh.
If the charging cost is rounded to IDR 2,500 per kWh, with three charging sessions, the cost would be between IDR 231,000 and IDR 291,600.
For Group 1 toll rates, the estimated toll cost for the Jakarta-Solo route reaches IDR 543,500. However, this rate does not yet include the discount that will be provided by the government during the 2026 Lebaran mudik period.
Therefore, the total estimated cost for a Jakarta-Solo trip using the BYD Atto 1 is approximately between IDR 774,500 and IDR 835,100.
