Jakarta Metropolitan Police Chief Inspector General Asep Edi Suheri personally led an environmental clean-up operation together with the ASRI Task Force, branded ‘Bang Jasri’ (Bhayangkara Jakarta ASRI), in the area beneath the Sungai Bambu toll road in North Jakarta on Thursday (19 February).

The operation was conducted as a demonstration of commitment to creating a clean and well-ordered environment.

A total of 650 personnel were deployed for the activity, comprising representatives from local government, sub-district agencies, religious leaders, media partners, influencers, and National Police officers.

Personnel were seen clearing rubbish and tidying the area beneath the toll road, which had previously appeared neglected.

The Police Chief said the activity was not merely ceremonial. He stressed that the environmental clean-up movement must become a cultural norm and be carried out on a sustained basis.

“This is not a symbolic exercise. We want to build a culture of cleanliness starting from our immediate surroundings. If the environment is clean, the community is also comfortable,” he said at the location.

The programme is aligned with the directives of President Prabowo Subianto regarding the importance of community service and building a culture of cleanliness.

Additionally, National Police Chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo has also emphasised that the ASRI movement must be realised through concrete action, not merely as a slogan.
