Thorough Search
The threat was received by one of the school staff through their Instagram account, which was then forwarded to the school authorities. Subsequently, the school authorities contacted the police.
The Gegana Detachment of the Brimob unit of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police then deployed the Bomb Disposal Unit (Jibom) to the location to conduct a search this morning. With complete equipment, the team conducted a thorough search to ensure the safety of the school.
Every corner of the rooms, including classrooms, laboratories, corridors, and other public facilities, was thoroughly sterilised and inspected. The inspection results confirmed that there was no bomb at the school.
Separately, the Commander of the Brimob unit of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Commissioner Henik Maryanto, affirmed that the Brimob is ready to respond to every potential security threat.
“Every piece of information that has the potential to disrupt public security will be followed up. The presence of the Brimob is to ensure that the situation remains safe and conducive,” said Commissioner Henik.
During the sterilisation process, officers did not find any suspicious objects or hazardous materials. The school environment was declared safe, and activities proceeded in an orderly manner without causing panic.
After the series of inspections was completed, the team consolidated and remained on standby to anticipate any developments in the situation.
