Jakarta—The Metro Jakarta Police Department (Polda Metro Jaya) has launched the Police and School Community Partnership Forum (FKPMS) across 11 schools in Jakarta as part of efforts to strengthen prevention of bullying, early detection, and resolution of issues within educational environments.

Metro Jakarta Police Chief Inspector General Asep Edi Suheri emphasised that schools and madrasahs are places where the nation’s future generation grows and must be maintained as safe, orderly, comfortable, and conducive spaces.

“The launch of FKPMS is rooted in various challenges within the educational environment, ranging from bullying and violence to harassment, clashes between students, negative influences from social media, and deviant behaviour resulting from social pressure,” Asep stated in a statement in Jakarta on Wednesday.

Asep noted that throughout 2025, Metro Jakarta Police have handled approximately 2,706 cases of violence against women and children in the Jakarta region, making child protection a serious challenge requiring integrated handling.

“The presence of FKPMS represents a strategic step in strengthening partnership between the police, schools, parents, and the community,” Asep said.

He described the forum as serving as a channel for communication, coordination, and swift and appropriate problem-solving to create safe, orderly, and conducive educational environments.

“Through this forum, communication among school elements, parents, communities, and the police will be strengthened so that every potential disruption can be identified early, properly mapped, and addressed swiftly and appropriately,” Asep explained.

He also emphasised the importance of the role of vice principals responsible for student affairs and student council leaders from secondary schools and Islamic high schools across Central Jakarta in building healthy school cultures, discipline, and environments free from violence, bullying, and drug abuse.

The initiative is expected to be expanded and replicated by other schools as a collective effort in creating safe, orderly, and conducive educational environments.

“With FKPMS taking root in 11 schools, we hope this partnership forum can continue to develop throughout Jakarta and serve as a collaboration model that can be applied in other schools,” Asep concluded.

Metro Jakarta Police remain committed to supporting preventive measures whilst maintaining a humanitarian and professional approach to create safe, orderly, and conducive educational environments.

The launch of FKPMS is expected to mark the beginning of more concrete collaborative work in building a safe and sustainable educational ecosystem.

“Going forward, this forum is expected to present a vulnerability map of schools, clear communication channels, counselling and problem-solving spaces, and active involvement of all relevant stakeholders,” Asep explained.

The 11 schools participating in the programme are: Central Jakarta (SMK Negeri 1 Jakarta), North Jakarta (SMK Walang), West Jakarta (SMA Negeri 78 Jakarta), South Jakarta (MAN 13 Jakarta), East Jakarta (SMK Kemala Bhayangkari), Tangerang City (SMK Negeri 7 Tangerang), Bekasi City (MAN 1 Kota Bekasi), Bekasi Regency (SMK Negeri 1 Cikarang), Depok (MA Al Hamidiyah), Thousand Islands (SMA Negeri 69 Jakarta Kepulauan Seribu), and South Tangerang (SMK Negeri 1 Tangerang Selatan).
