JAKARTA (JP): Stock trading continued to improve on the Jakarta Stock Exchange (JSX) yesterday, with most shares gaining ground in moderate trading.
The Composite Index, which closed slightly higher at 467.86 on Monday, gained 3.91 points to end at 471.77.
The narrower-based GTDBS-50 Index meanwhile also strengthened to 110.29 from 109.21.
A broker at JSX said that the composite index was revised with the listing of 31.59 million shares of Bakrie & Brothers and 14.26 million shares of Sari Husada.
Among the top gainers were Matahari Putra Prima (up Rp 700), Unggul Indah (up Rp 475), Tembaga Mulia Semanan, Mayora (up Rp 450 each), Summarecon Agung (up Rp 350), Kalbe Farma (up Rp 300) and Duta Anggada Realty (up Rp 225).
Yesterday's losers included Sari Husada (down Rp 9,500), Bakrie & Brothers (down Rp 8,400), Lippo Land Development (down Rp 950), Bank Niaga (down Rp 800) and Charoen Pokhand Indonesia (down Rp 225).
Trading volume doubled to 33.86 million shares valued at Rp 174.48 billion (US$81.15 million) yesterday from 16.9 million shares worth Rp 72.8 billion ($33.86 million) on Monday.
Of the total trading volume, 12.59 million shares were traded at Rp 58.18 billion on the regular market, 20.35 million shares at Rp 112.51 billion on the crossing board, 918,500 shares at Rp 3.78 billion on the foreign board and 200 shares at Rp 400,000 on the odd lot board.
The block sale and cash trading boards recorded no transactions yesterday.(icn)
