JAKARTA — Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has plans to install surveillance cameras (CCTV) across city parks, including Cawang Forest Park in East Jakarta, following the circulation of a video alleging immoral activities in the area.

The measure comes in response to a video that has been circulating online documenting alleged illicit conduct at the location.

“We will address all of the forest parks accordingly. This includes installing CCTV cameras,” stated Pramono after attending a breaking-of-fast gathering at Al Hamid Putra Islamic Boarding School, Cilangkap, Cipayung, East Jakarta, on Saturday.

He emphasised that he would immediately follow up on the circulating information and requested that the Civil Service Police (Satpol PP) undertake enforcement action.

“I will ask the Satpol PP to clean up the area,” he said.

Pramono stressed that Jakarta cannot tolerate locations conducive to deviant activities.

“Jakarta must not have spaces for such activities,” he asserted.

In a video posted on Instagram account @ijoeel, the videographer noted that the area frequently attracts groups of men at night.

“I do not know why this place is often used for men to gather. I am unsure of the nature of these gatherings,” the videographer stated.

The area was previously raided in 2023 after being suspected as a location for immoral conduct. The authorities implemented a permanent closure by concrete sealing at key access points deemed high-risk in order to restrict entry and exit.

Makassar Sub-district Head Dimas Prayudi stated that this measure was undertaken in collaboration with the East Jakarta Parks and Forest Service.

“We are attempting to permanently close two access points today through concrete sealing, in collaboration with the Parks Service, and afterwards there will be monitoring and maintenance of the park to ensure it functions more effectively,” said Dimas at the location on Friday (27 February 2026).
