Jakarta (ANTARA) - Owner of a pastry business mentored by the National Zakat Agency (Baznas) RI in East Jakarta, Neneng, has successfully achieved revenues of tens of millions of rupiah per month after receiving capital assistance and guidance through the Baznas Microfinance Desa (BMD) Programme.

In a statement in Jakarta on Wednesday, Neneng recounted that her business, named “Dapoer Keitha Aneka Pastry”, now records income reaching approximately Rp16 million per month.

“I am very grateful and feel greatly assisted by the guidance from Baznas because, in addition to receiving capital support, I was also taught how to manage the business more effectively,” she said.

Neneng explained that she initially pursued this business by leveraging her cooking skills. The primary goal was to strengthen her family’s economic stability.

Now, the business has expanded to offer a variety of foods such as croissants, cromboloni, double cheese, and smoked beef pastry. Neneng also revealed that there are 11 other menus produced.

In response, the Secretary General of Baznas RI, Subhan Cholid, emphasised that the BMD Programme is specifically designed to target micro-business operators at the village or sub-district level so that they have access to appropriate capital and guidance.

“Through BMD, we are committed to being present directly in the midst of society to ensure that small business actors like Neneng receive the support they need to advance,” he stated.

Subhan added that the results achieved by Neneng also serve as evidence of the success of Baznas RI’s productive zakat management.

“We greatly appreciate Neneng’s perseverance in utilising the BMD facilities, enabling her business to generate stable revenue and deliver tangible impacts on her family’s welfare,” said Subhan Cholid.
