Jakarta (ANTARA) - Criminal incidents occurred across the Greater Jakarta area on Friday (20/2), ranging from undercover surveillance methods being deployed at nightlife venues in West Jakarta during the month of Ramadan to the arrest of a drug dealer in the Rawalumbu area of Bekasi.

**1. Jakarta Metropolitan Police arrest cannabis dealer with 1.3 kg in Bekasi**

The Narcotics Directorate of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police arrested a cannabis dealer in possession of 1.3 kilogrammes of the drug in the Rawalumbu area of Bekasi, West Java.

"During the operation conducted on Thursday (19/2), we secured one male suspect with the initials A.T.S (30) who is alleged to be the perpetrator," said Unit Chief 4 of Sub-directorate 3 of the Metropolitan Police Narcotics Directorate, Adjunct Commissioner Rumangga, in a statement on Friday.

**2. Richard Lee released without detention after police questioning**

The Jakarta Metropolitan Police confirmed that the examination of suspect Dr Richard Lee (DRL) in a case involving alleged consumer protection violations and beauty products and treatments had been completed, but that no detention order was issued.

Head of Public Relations for the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Senior Commissioner Budi Hermanto, explained that the examination of DRL began on Thursday (19/2) morning at 10.40 WIB and concluded at 19.00 WIB, covering a total of 35 questions. Following the examination process, DRL was permitted to leave at approximately 22.30 WIB.

**3. Police investigate driver who brandished knife in South Jakarta**

Police are investigating a case in which a motorist brandished a knife during an altercation with a ride-hailing taxi driver on Jalan Arteri Pondok Indah, Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (17/2).

"Today we summoned both parties again to ask how it went viral, given that they had already reached a settlement beforehand. The process is still ongoing," said Unit Chief of Criminal Investigation at Kebayoran Lama Police Station, Adjunct Commissioner Ivo Amel, to reporters in Jakarta on Friday.

**4. Jakarta Metropolitan Police rotate personnel at start of Ramadan**

At the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan, the Jakarta Metropolitan Police carried out a series of transfers and rotations involving officers ranging from first-rank commissioned officers (Second Inspector, First Inspector, Adjunct Commissioner) to mid-rank officers (Commissioner and Senior Commissioner).

The transfers and rotations were set out in Telegram Letter No. ST/89/I/KEP./2026, covering 76 personnel, and ST/90/I/KEP./2026 dated 19 January 2026, covering 99 personnel.

**5. Civil Service Police to go undercover as civilians to monitor nightlife venues in West Jakarta**

The West Jakarta Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) has opened the option of deploying undercover methods to monitor nightlife establishments in the West Jakarta area during the month of Ramadan.

"For nightlife surveillance, including tourism industry venues such as massage parlours or discotheques, there will be personnel conducting undercover operations, for example wearing plainclothes or casual attire," said Head of Security and Order Section of the West Jakarta Satpol PP, Edison Butar Butar, to reporters in Kembangan on Friday evening.
