Jakarta’s Civil Police (Satpol PP) conducted surveillance of 690 entertainment and recreation businesses throughout Ramadan, distributed across five administrative districts of the capital.

From the monitoring conducted until 12 March 2026, twenty-one entertainment venues were issued examination reports (BAP). Dozens of entertainment establishments allegedly violated regulations, particularly concerning operating hours.

“We have conducted surveillance of approximately 690 entertainment venues during Ramadan. Around 21 entertainment places have been issued warnings for violating the operating hours established by tourism authorities,” stated Satriadi Gunawan, Head of Jakarta’s Civil Police Enforcement, in a statement on Saturday (14 March 2026).

He explained that the agency prioritises a graduated approach in enforcing regulations. The first step involves issuing warnings to entertainment businesses that violate the rules.

“We issue warnings first. If they continue to be stubborn, only then do we proceed with closure. But they are not obstinate and have already adjusted the next day,” he added.

He further stated that the agency had previously conducted awareness campaigns with business operators to comply with the operating hour regulations in effect during Ramadan.

“Indeed, before this we conducted awareness campaigns with business operators to comply with the closure rules that have been established,” he explained.

Satpol PP also ensured that surveillance continues throughout the Eid holiday period with a three-shift work system for all field personnel.

“That is correct, so indeed they must remain on standby 24 hours to protect Jakarta. We have approximately 5,100 personnel total, divided into three shifts,” he stated.

Regarding the operation of entertainment venues, Satriadi noted that operating hour regulations will return to normal two days after Eid al-Fitr.

“Two days after Eid, it returns to normal,” he concluded.
