Jakarta-Cirebon flights

JAKARTA (JP): The privately-run airliner PT Deraya Air Service
reported yesterday that it has resumed twice-a-week flight
service between Jakarta and Cirebon, West Java, after a one-year
suspension.

"The route, which starts from the Halim Perdanakusuma airport
in Jakarta, will be served by Cesna airplanes," said Ruslani, an
executive at Deraya's representative office in Cirebon.

Antara reported that the company would use its existing fleet
of airplanes to serve the Jakarta-Cirebon route, instead of
procuring new aircraft. Deraya's renewed flight service is
expected to support development of the tourism industry in
Cirebon and its surroundings.

Cirebon's Penggung airport administrative office reported that
around 6,000 passengers used the airport every year.

Following the resumption, Ruslani said that Deraya may begin
new flight routes from Cirebon to Semarang and Cilacap, both in
Central Java. (fhp)
