Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov DKI Jakarta) is exploring cooperation on investments in the green infrastructure and environmental sectors with a delegation from the All-China Environment Federation (ACEF) to promote the transformation of economic development, environmental sustainability, and urban resilience amid global challenges.

Deputy Head of the Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Agency (DPMPTSP) of DKI Jakarta, Muhammad Herizkianto, stated that the relationship between Indonesia and China, which has been established for more than seven decades, serves as a strong foundation for expanding cooperation, particularly in sustainable sectors.

“We believe that strong partnerships will determine our success in building resilient and sustainable urban systems,” said Herizkianto in a statement in Jakarta on Friday.

According to him, Jakarta cannot proceed alone. Therefore, the government is inviting investors to jointly develop solutions in the environmental and sustainable development sectors.

He also highlighted China’s significant contribution to foreign investment, valued at $7.5 billion nationally in 2025 and $483 million in Jakarta.

Herizkianto assessed that these figures still have considerable room for improvement, especially in the environmental, infrastructure, and green urban development sectors.

Meanwhile, Vice Chairman of ACEF, Hong Ping, stated that Jakarta, as one of the most dynamic cities in Southeast Asia, has vast development prospects.

“We do not only want to be technology providers but also long-term partners in Jakarta’s development,” said Hong Ping.

He revealed that infrastructure and environmental sectors are the primary priorities for this cooperation, aligning with Jakarta’s needs in urban transportation development, wastewater treatment, improvement of water environmental quality, and waste management.

“These fields are the main strengths of our companies. We are ready to bring solutions and experiences from China to be implemented through mutually beneficial concrete projects,” stated Hong Ping.

Furthermore, ACEF is encouraging the establishment of long-term communication mechanisms to ensure that the realisation of cooperation does not stop at the discussion stage.
