JAKARTA — Multiple activities were held at Istiqlal Mosque during Ramadhan, including a series of religious studies addressing issues of patience, self-control, and life balance conducted on 19-22 February 2026.

The activities included the distribution of breaking-fast provisions to congregants in the mosque’s courtyard. Several renowned preachers including KH Abu Hurairah, Ust Muhammad Assad, Ust Nurrudin, and KH Mas’ud Halimin delivered spiritual guidance emphasising the importance of maintaining emotional stability and physical health whilst fasting.

The theme of self-reflection and sincerity ran through each session, aligned with the need for peaceful spaces amidst the dynamics of urban Ramadhan observance.

The main hall and grounds of Southeast Asia’s largest mosque were filled with congregants attending the studies with full concentration. The congregation’s enthusiasm demonstrated the high demand for religious learning spaces that address everyday challenges.

During the activities, the organising committee and partners provided 100,000 bottles of drinking water and breaking-fast provisions to congregants.

Vera Galuh Sugijanto, VP General Secretary of Danone Indonesia, stated that Ramadhan is an opportunity to strengthen values of goodness whilst maintaining inner peace. She noted that Ramadhan teaches Muslims to exercise restraint, manage emotions, and engage in greater reflection.

“Through the Adem Ramadan Study session at Istiqlal Mosque, we wanted to create a space that not only refreshes people physically through proper hydration, but also soothes the heart through knowledge and messages of goodness,” Vera said in a press statement on Monday (2 March 2026).

She added that participation in these activities represents an effort to continue supporting various social initiatives during Ramadhan. “We grow together with society and always wish to be part of their important moments,” she said.

Similar programmes are planned for major cities including Bandung, Solo, Semarang, and Surabaya, with comparable formats of religious study sessions and sharing initiatives.
