TEL AVIV (Reuter): Senior executives from Koor Industries Ltd,
Israel's largest industrial concern, will visit four Asian
countries, including Indonesia, in February to seek out trade and
business opportunities, industry sources said.
The trip will include Indonesia and Sri Lanka -- countries
without diplomatic ties to Israel -- as well as Myanmar and
Vietnam, the sources said.
It would be the most senior economic delegation from Israel to
ever visit those countries, the sources said.
Koor spokesman Amiram Fleischer confirmed a delegation of
senior executives was planing to visit some Asian countries but
refused to provide further details.
The delegation will be headed by Koor president and chief
executive Benjamin Gaon and Koor chairman Stanley Gold, who heads
Shamrock, the Disney family's investment vehicle that owns 22.5
percent of Koor.
The meetings in Myanmar, Vietnam, Sri Lanka and Indonesia are
expected to strengthen trade relations between Koor and Asian
industry and "could lead to an opening of Koor offices in those
countries", a source said.
Koor's spokesman refused to comment on whether the delegation
would meet government officials while in Indonesia.
