Israel-US Strike Iran; 15 Flights at Ngurah Rai Airport Cancelled Affecting 3,197 Passengers
Jakarta, Kompas.com – The escalation of the Iran-Israel conflict, which has led to the closure of numerous airspaces in the Middle East, has also affected international flight operations at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali.
As of Monday, 2 March 2026 at 13:00 WITA, 15 international flights had been cancelled, comprising 8 departures and 7 arrivals.
Gede Eka Sandi Asmadi, Communication and Legal Division Head of PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, stated that the cancellations were due to airspace closures in several countries in the Middle East region.
“In connection with airspace closures in several countries, we can inform you that until Monday, 2 March 2026 at 13:00 WITA, a total of 15 international flight routes have been cancelled, comprising 8 departures and 7 arrivals,” Gede Eka said in an official statement.
The affected flights include routes from Denpasar to Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Doha operated by Emirates, Etihad Airways, and Qatar Airways, as well as arrival routes from those cities to Denpasar.
Regarding departures, cancellations occurred on the Denpasar–Dubai route operated by Emirates with flight numbers EK369 and EK399 on 28 February, 1 March, and 2 March.
Additionally, Etihad Airways cancelled flight EY477 on the Denpasar–Abu Dhabi route on 28 February and 1 March.
Qatar Airways also halted two scheduled flights on the Denpasar–Doha route, namely QR963 on 28 February and QR961 on 1 March.
Regarding arrivals, cancellations include Etihad flight EY476 on the Abu Dhabi–Denpasar route on 1 March.
Emirates also cancelled flights EK368 and EK398 from Dubai to Denpasar on 1 and 2 March.
Qatar Airways cancelled flights QR960 and QR962 from Doha to Denpasar, which were scheduled to arrive on 1 and 2 March.
However, airport authorities assure that overall operations continue to run normally.
“Flight operations and airport services at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali are generally running normally and optimally,” the statement said.
The management of PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airports) continues to monitor developments regarding Middle Eastern airspace and coordinates with various parties.
Coordination is being conducted with airlines for schedule updates and passenger handling, with AirNav Indonesia to monitor airspace, and with security authorities to anticipate conditions at the airport.
