Israel, four days into attacks on Iran, could face Rp48 trillion in weekly economic losses
Israel’s Finance Ministry says the economic losses from the war against Iran could reach 9 billion shekels, or about Rp48.93 trillion per week.
Most recently, Israel’s attack backed by the United States on a manufacturing company in Alvand, Qazvin province in northwestern Iran, injured 23 people, according to the Qazvin governor’s office cited by Iran’s Tasnim News Agency. In total, six people were killed across the province, according to the governor’s office.
Earlier, an independent UN inquiry into human rights violations in Iran strongly denounced the US-Israel strikes on the country. “These attacks … are contrary to the United Nations Charter, which forbids the use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any state,” the UN Independent International Fact-Finding Mission on Iran said in a statement.
Meanwhile, Turkey’s Defence Ministry, which recently stated that NATO air defenses intercepted ballistic missiles fired from Iran, said in a statement that the missiles were shot down in the Dortyol district near the Mediterranean Sea and caused no casualties.
The statement emphasised that Turkey “is able to guarantee the safety of its region and its citizens, regardless of who or from where the threat comes.”
“We remind you that we reserve the right to respond to any acts of aggression against our country,” the statement added, urging all parties to refrain from “actions that would further widen the conflict in the region.”
