Islam, jihad are peaceful

Terrorists constitute a product of certain people or groups or
states that justify any means to achieve their goals. Suicide
bombers in this country are victims of ignorance of and
disappointment with the values of "truth" in life, so they can be
provoked to commit such desperate acts.

Therefore, I would like to appeal to President Susilo Bambang
Yudhoyono to instruct all universities and high schools to
include the chapter of jihad (holy war) in the subject of Islamic
education.

Jihad is waged for peace and Islam contains teachings to
achieve peace. The values of virtue in Islam must never be
diverted to the wrong direction. Jihad forbids destruction,
killing of innocent people, razing of worship houses and so
forth.

In order to maintain the noble values of jihad, it should be a
mandatory part of the school and college Islamic curriculum. In
this way, there will be no more room for terrorist groups to
mislead and recruit people for murder.
